Present at the meeting were: Samya Boxberger-Oberoi (VPE & VPPR), Nancy Johnson (VPM & Treasurer) and Randy Groover (President).
Officer Reports:
The President reported that we had obtained 3 DCP goals to date.
The VPE was contacted by Kaiser Health Care with a request for presenters to present a youth public speaking course. The VPE will determine if there is any interest on the part of our members in presenting the course. The VPE will then contact Kaiser to finalize the arrangements for presenting the course.
The VPM mentioned that we need to formally induct Julio Alvarado.
The VPPR has confirmed our booth at the San Mateo County Business Expo on September 26th. She will talk with Bill Craumer and Tiffany Fung to see if there is any interest in holding a social event after the Expo.
Agenda Items:
The Treasurer reported that the 990N filing has not taken place. She will call Toastmasters International (TI) and get support from them on how to perform the 990N filing.
The VPM said that she will send another e-mail to Monique Oliveira to determine her interest in continuing her membership for the next 6 months.
The President thought that the ACBs for himself and Ruth Wadsworth should count in the current DCP report, but were not showing up. The VPE agreed to contact TI and determine if that is true.
In order to allow new members an opportunity to join the Executive Committee, the President will send an e-mail mentioning that the opportunity is open to all who are interested.
The President presented his slate of candidates for the Executive Committee.
The Rebranding work continues. The President and the VPPR will review the documents on the website and determine if they need to be updated, deleted or left unchanged. The work on the documents should be done in July. The President will present a Functional Specification to the Executive Committee at the August 13th meeting. The VPPR will present the rebranded 'look & feel' to the Executive Committee at the August 13th meeting.
The date for the next education module will be November 5, 2012. Rehearsals will be in October. The specific education module to be presented will be selected in September. The Executive Committee was given an overview of the various education module topics by the VPPR. The VPPR will send out an e-mail to the club to get the members familiar with the education module topics.
The next Executive Committee Meeting will be held on July 16, 2012.
