February 11, 2013 Executive Committee Meeting

Present at the meeting were: Ruth Wadsworth (VPM & Sgt. at Arms), Samya Boxberger-Oberoi (VPE & VPPR), Suzanne Mulcahy (Secretary) and Randy Groover (President & Treasurer).

Officer Reports:

The President reported that 4 DCP goals had been obtained.

The VPE will move forward to assess the educational achievement of the club.

The VPE gave a briefing on the officer training opportunities available to the officers.

The VPE will work on identifying 'substitutes' for the CL award that allows for club members to achieve the CL by doing 'like kind' activities to those documented by Toastmasters International in order to achieve the award. The President committed to send a machine readable photocopy of his achievement page from his CL manual to the VPE so she can begin the process of identifying which achievements specified by Toastmasters International can be 'substituted' with a 'like kind' activity.

The VPPR will work with the Area Governor to identify means in which the club might be recognized by District 4 for its educational (both educational module and youth sponsorship) achievements. The VPPR will present the options for recognition at the next EC meeting.

The Sgt. at Arms committed to print 25 club fliers to hand out to guests.

Agenda Items:

The President asked the VPPR for comments regarding the nearly completed re-branding of the website. The entire Executive Committee has the option of providing feedback to the VPPR. The VPPR will compile the feedback and present it to the President who will then decide which, if any, of the suggestions need to be implemented on the final round of changes before the re-branding of the website is determined to be complete.

The President committed to contact all the Area H2 club presidents before the next EC meeting and determine their interest in participating in the next presentation of an educational module.

The Treasurer indicated that he will begin sending out e-mail in March in order to begin collecting dues for the April 1st renewal period.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be held on March 11, 2013.

Randy was the General Evaluator.
Ruth was also the Grammarian.
Sharon was the Ah Counter.
There was no Vote Counter.
Randy was also the Timer.
Suzanne gave a speech entitled, 'Surviving the Mountains in Winter'.
Emily was the Table Topics Master.
Samya evaluated Ruth's speech.
